Man this week was cray-cray! I am so ready for Spring Break and I am so jealous of you teachers who had yours this week!!
I've been planning on linking up with sweet Kacey the last couple of weeks, but I just haven't gotten around to it because I've been so busy this month. So here we go, 5 completely and mostly non-teaching (due to my spring fever) random things!1. On Sunday I drove down to Columbia, SC with my Bloggy BFF Elisabeth and two of her coworkers to go to the Lucy Calkins Conference! Can we say fabulous? Me and Elisabeth were soooo excited!
I loved hearing Lucy speak, she was so down to Earth and so real! I learned so much and it was so worth the money to go see her. We even bum-rushed the stage!!
Yep, that is us with Lucy!!
2. Last year I was Teacher of the Year at my school. Today they installed my plaque outside my classroom. It makes me feel so official!
3. I love Netflix. Do you? I love watching new shows, and I really love watching some of my old favorites. I just started rewatching the fabulous Dawson's Creek.
Dude, I love this show. Do I have any Creek fans out there?? I plan on spending some time with the kids at the Creek this weekend.
4. Shameless Plug here. My Donor's Choose project has less than a month left and I'm pretty far from reaching it. I'd love if you checked it out! I think that right now you can use the matching code HORACEMANN12 :)
5. You guys know how I love Task Cards and I've been working on creating some Math Task Cards for the third grade standards. So, I started off with the first two in the Operations and Algebraic Thinking Domain.
Just click on the picture to check them out at TPT. Leave a comment below and I'll choose two people on Sunday to receive both sets. Be sure to leave your email!
I hope you enjoy your weekend, I know I will! It's supposed to be in the 70s here! YAY!
Oh and don't forget to check out everyone else who linked up at Doodle Bugs Teaching!!

I <3 The Creek!! :)

Kickin' It With Class
One summer TNT was running Dawson's Creek mini-marathon every morning...saw every season in a couple of weeks! (The first shows were very different, weren't they?) And then later I stumbled upon the DVDs at a garage sale...I snatched them up so quickly I nearly pulled a muscle. BTW, I am entirely too old to enjoy Dawson's Creek!
ReplyDeleteDo you know if there is a matching code for your Donors Choose project? I would be happy to make a donation either way, but if it helps you get more, I would rather do it that way.
Dawson's Creek...oh, the memories!! Awesome that you got to meet Lucy Calkins!!

As a teacher re-entering into the field after an almost 5 year break the common core oriented math task cards would be a wonderful addition to my "new" room.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!

Congrats on receiving your plaque! What a nice way to recognize a Teacher of the Year. I love your task cards because they are so versatile and can be used in a whole group, small group, or in a work station! I love being able to use one item in so many ways!
